Dishank & Meenal Delhi : This chilled-out couple were seen smoking hookah at their wedding ceremony!

Dishank & Meenal Delhi : This chilled-out couple were seen smoking hookah at their wedding ceremony!

How often have we come across a couple chilling and smoking hookah at their wedding?

Think…

Okay, time’s up!

This oh-so-cool couple did just that, and we are drooling over their gorgeous shaadi pictures.

7 years to 7 vows

This love story blossomed in college- just, as it happens in the movies, a mutual friend aka Cupid, introduced the two at his party, with the sole purpose of setting them up :-P.

A little secret, she fell for him instantly.

Meenal says, “His reserved nature charmed me! We began to text each other all day and before we knew it we confessed our feelings to one another and started dating. It has been 7 years now!”

According to Meenal, when she looks back at her love life, it is more like a tumbling kaleidoscope- a mix of happy and not-so-happy memories.

The best part is that none of them proposed to one another or decided to get married. In a year, both of them just knew that they had met the right person. “I feel very grateful and blessed to be spending the rest of my life with us as a couple.”

Special moment

“The most difficult time was when he was in the USA, and handling a long-distance relationship was tough for both of us. However, within three months of going to America he came back and surprised me. It was one of the most special moments of my life.”

The Wedding Festivities

Engagement

The bride looked stunning in a light blue lehenga replete with gold embellishments, paired with a shimmery silver blouse. The bride kept her hair and makeup minimal and paired her outfit with a delicate diamond choker. The groom looked dapper in a royal blue tuxedo.

The decor was opulent and pretty, with cascading lavender florals and large chandeliers.

Mehendi

For the mehendi ceremony, the bride wore something extremely phenomenal and drool-worthy. It was a combination of elegant, chic and Meenal looked nothing short of a princess.

“I wanted my Mehendi look to be vibrant, romantic, and fun! The bright tangerine lehenga by Agunj with the elegant ruffled neckline and dupatta made the ensemble look just perfect. I bought by bought my Mehendi jewellery from Fooljhadi- Divya customised the beautiful multi-coloured necklace, statement earrings, and jhumka bangles for me. I was ecstatic to see how well everything looked together. Amrit’s makeup and hair was the icing on the cake. She did a spendid job!”

Dishank wore a bright pink short kurta, paired with a floral printed bandhgala jacket. The groom was seen chilling at the mehendi ceremony, smoking hookah.

A swing decorated with strings of marigolds, large spheres of exotic flowers, cascading tiny gold kaleeras, and rustic chandeliers made up for fun, bright, and colourful decor.

Haldi

The haldi was a rather intimate affair with close friends and family. The bride wore an understated ochre-yellow suit, while the groom wore a simple white kurta and chudidaar. The haldi ceremony witnessed a whole lot of fun- from the the bride enjoying with her group of bridesmaids to family members tearing off Dishank’s clothes as part of the haldi ceremony.

Wedding

The wedding was nothing short of extravagant and larger-than-life. The colour palette was mostly pink, peach and pastels- whether it was the decor or the outfits.

Red drapes, pillars bedecked with red flowers, royal-looking chairs for the couple, and a humongous floral chandelier comprised the wedding decor.

Meenal’s heavily embellished lehenga with was a mix of pink, apricot, yellow, peach, and gold. The lehenga skirt consisted of embroidered Mughal-inspired designs and portraits. She paired her outfit with gold and emerald jewellery and tied her hair in a bun with flowers tucked in.

Dishank complemented her well in his salmon-coloured bandhgala sherwani, replete with white and silver embroidery. He paired his outfit with a ‘paanchlada’ necklace.

The coolest bit of the wedding was seeing the bride and groom enjoying themselves smoking hookah at their wedding.

Best shaadi moments

“I believe the most memorable part of the wedding week was the sheer amount of love that the two of us shared. The surprise performances for each other, the dancing, rejoicing, and moreover, the first glances we shared after getting ready, were extremely special to us.”

About the Photographer

“Poonam and her team did a fantastic job with the pictures! Their unconventional approach of capturing the moment in its true essence without asking to pose too much and yet delivering good clicks was amazing! They are an approachable and extremely talented bunch of young photographers that you would want to work with.”

About Suneet Verma

“This man creates magic! The most important thing for any bride is her wedding outfits and she settles for nothing short of perfection! The best part about buying an outfit from him is that he resonates that feeling. He suggested ways to drape my dupatta that would not be cumbersome for me and suggested ways to alter the outfit to suit my petite frame. I was very impressed with his passion and ingenuity.”

About Purab and Paschim

“Ankit is an extremely talented jewellery designer! The amount of time they invest in each client until the client is satisfied and happy is amazing! I absolutely loved the accessories I bought for them and would be visiting them again in the future!”

About Sulakshna Jasra

Sulakshna made a beautiful outfit for Dishank! Her simplicity and readiness to help with customisation were beyond compare. Her designs instantly clicked with Dishank and everyone else!

About Agunj by Gunjan Arora

My earlier Mehendi outfit got ruined due to an unfortunate incident and I was looking for a new one with just 10 days left for my wedding! Not only did I love my outfit that Gunjan made I also appreciated the fact that she understood the urgency and readied the outfit within a week. The icing on the cake – there were no fitting issues! Would love to recommend her.
