When it comes to your wedding day, everything has to be perfect. From your bridal attire to the flowers – every little detail makes up the full picture. So when it comes to the details, one has to be very sure about the requirements. After all, you don’t want a small missed detail to cause any sort of distress on the big day.

Number of Events & Venues to Be Covered

Depending on your number of guests and events, the photographer and his/her team can give you a better idea of their work schedule, breaks etc. Some photographers choose to work on basis of events and not hours and it’s essential that you mutually decide on these things. Smaller events like haldi, puja and others and their dates and venue also need to be included to avoid confusion!

Package Inclusions

Apart from the number of photos and videos, it’s essential that you decide on the other inclusions. From the number of cameras to the transport, food and accommodation – everything has to be pre-decided and included in the contract!

Number of Photographers & Cinematographers

An Indian wedding is a grand affair and you need more than one person to cover the essential moments. It’s important that you and your photographer mutually decide on the number of photographers and cinematographers for each event and each category (candid/traditional etc) to ensure that you have everything covered!

Number of Working Hours & Breaks

Let this not be a verbal agreement – we understand that you may have a great rapport with your photographer but it’s essential that you put everything in the contract. A wedding is a long affair and it’s essential that your photographers stick around for the crucial moment. Let them know if there are any rituals post the wedding that you want them to cover! 

Deliverables

Make a list of things you want from them – number of candid shots, number of pictures, number of edited pictures, albums etc and put it in your contract. There is every chance that you may not like some pictures so it’s always great to have a few extra!

Image Rights & Usage

Most photographers use their wedding photographs for their portfolio and various inspirational websites. The copyright is with them and if you have any problem with sharing your images, you have to let them know beforehand!

Date & Time of Delivery 

It’s always a bright idea to have a fixed time and date for the delivery of the pictures and video. You don’t want your wedding pictures to emerge on your anniversary! The photographer should let you the number of weeks it would take him to send you the photographs!

Mode & Date of Payment and Refund Policy

Apart from the final package price, it’s also essential that you decide on the date and mode of payment. Mutually decide on the advance amount and date and the rest of the details and put it down in the agreement! In case of any changes or cancellation, you don’t want to be stranded without a clue. It’s always good to have the refund policy covered in the agreement. 

Specific Shots

If you have any specific things on mind like a family portrait or a shot of the venue etc, you need to convey the same to your photographer and put it in the contract. This ensures that not a single moment is missed from the most special day of your life.

Extra Editing or Changes

If you want your photographer to make more changes or change a specific photo to a certain colour scheme, they will charge extra and you need to specify the cost in these cases. Also, decide on the payment date for these extra charges.
